Golshan Yektaeian was born in 1982 in Isfahan, Iran. She grew up in an artistic family, her father being one of the traditional artists of Isfahan. That is why she thrived in a world of colors and patterns. She majored in film studies and had some experience in acting and working in the theatre. As well as that, she taught art to children for some years. There was also a period when she was busy designing and making silver and brass jewelry and wet felt accessories; but none of these felt like the thing she wanted from life. She was passionate about painting and that is why she gave up all those jobs and returned to it. She participated in five collective illustration exhibitions and was praised in two festivals: Nafas Organ Donation and Inner Monster. Furthermore, in 2017, she held a painting workshop in Paris book fair (Livre Paris) inside Iran’s booth. Several of her works have been published in Hamshahri Dastan and Saan – two Iranian literary journals. Golshan considers herself a self-taught experimental painter and still enjoys discovering new materials and techniques. The main themes of her works include human-beings and their encounter with death, loneliness, and finding liberation in the fleeting joys of life.
